Carolyn Monaco
Carolyn Monaco joined NuScale Power in 2017. In her current role as Vice President, Quality Assurance (QA), Ms. Monaco is responsible for overall leadership of quality at NuScale, including quality program/process development and implementation, maintenance of quality manuals, setting direction and priority for quality objectives and improvement initiatives, providing input and support to executives concerning the state of corporate quality, and the performance of Quality Assurance activities across the company. She oversees document control and records management, performance improvement, including the Corrective Action Program (CAP), independent verification and validation, as well as oversight functions, including internal and supplier-related activities, maintenance of NuScale’s ASME N Certificate of Authorization (N-4781) and other quality certificates.
Before joining NuScale, Ms. Monaco was Director, Global Component Manufacturing at Westinghouse Electric Company and brings over 35 years of experience in the commercial nuclear fuel industry, including quality, design and manufacturing engineering, continuous improvement, customer relationships (domestic and international), strategy, and business development. During her career, she’s worked in over 20 international regulatory and quality frameworks.
Ms. Monaco has a Bachelor of Science in metallurgical engineering from Montana College of Mineral Science & Technology and a Master of Science in materials science from the University of Pittsburgh. She is also a Six Sigma Black Belt.
