David Tonnel
David Tonnel, Senior Vice President, Accounting, joined NuScale in 2025. In his current position, Mr. Tonnel is responsible for leading the company’s accounting and reporting team and ensuring financial statements are accurate and compliant with federal regulations, corporate tax laws, and reporting standards. He drives strategic financial initiatives, strengthens internal controls, optimizes accounting operations for scalability, and works closely with NuScale’s executive leadership to align financial strategy with business objectives.
Mr. Tonnel has over 30 years of global executive finance and public accounting experience in capital-intensive and energy-focused industries. He has worked across 15 countries and four continents in a variety of finance and operations positions. Most recently, he served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer at Transocean.
Prior to Transocean, Mr. Tonnel was the Controller of Oilfield Services at SLB, where he managed finance in Congo. He started his career at EY in Paris, France, where he worked as a Senior Auditor.
Mr. Tonnel holds a Master of Science in Management from HEC Paris, with a focus on Audit and Finance. He is bilingual in English and French.
