
Shinji Fujino
Shinji Fujino has served as a member of the board of NuScale Power Corporation since December 2022 and currently works at Unison Capital, a Japanese private equity fund, as Senior Advisor.
Mr. Fujino has extensive experience in international affairs, including helping to establish the framework of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation; as a member of the bilateral Free Trade Agreement/Economic Partnership Agreement negotiations; leading energy policy reviews of developed economies and analyzing their energy mixes; and promoting renewable and new energy, energy efficiency, and restructuring domestic coal industries.
Previously, Mr. Fujino worked at the Japan Bank for International Cooperation, a governmental agency funded by Japan’s Ministry of Finance, from 2016 until his retirement in 2021. From 2012 to 2016, Mr. Fujino worked at the Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation, a governmental agency under the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) that financially supports Japanese industries’ abroad. Prior to 2012, Mr. Fujino held senior roles at the International Energy Agency in Paris; the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development; and METI.
Mr. Fujino majored in physics at the University of Tokyo.
